Castro

This rather dowdy 1950’s developer “box” of a building was purchased by four friends as a communal living house.

We were charged with design/build responsibility in making it into something the young owners could be proud of, but also spoke to the atmosphere of San Francisco and the Castro district. The design solution melded craftsman language with a fresh, contemporary color scheme. The facade and lobby renovation was completed in record time, during the rainy season, and for just under budget.
